I’m an Ohio-based multimedia journalist covering higher education

Hi there, I’m Sheridan.

Like the hotel, but spelled different

I’m a journalist, working most recently for The Columbus Dispatch in Columbus, Ohio, where I cover higher education.

Growing up in a college town, I'm always curious about how higher education intersects with the economy, culture and society. I want to know: Who is and isn't going to college, how are they getting there and who is helping them across the finish line? Who has a stake in higher education, and what's at stake for today's students?

I was born in the suburbs of Columbus and raised on the internet. Ohio State schooled me and working for The Lantern sharpened my curiosity, taught me to write on deadline and to care about the people who share their stories with me.

Now I work for my hometown newspaper covering Ohio’s colleges and universities. I’m was also a 2023-2024 Poynter-Koch Media and Journalism fellow.

FOLLOW ALONG. ENJOY THE PROCESS.

AND THANKS ALWAYS FOR READING!
